This statement is made pursuant to s.54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Self Select Distribution has taken and is continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking and forced labour. Self Select Distribution has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.
Self Select Distribution are the largest supplier of free pickup newspapers & magazines to the UKs major supermarkets. Self Select Distribution employ 26 staff throughout the UK. Self Select Distribution only employ staff who are eligible to work in the UK and conduct ID checks on all employees.
Our supply chain operates throughout England, Wales & Scotland.
We strive to undertake due diligence when taking on suppliers and we review our existing suppliers periodically. We conduct our due diligence using the following methods:
Our Modern Slavery Act 2015 policy is made available to all employees who are required to review and familiarise themselves with all internal policies. Employees who deal with suppliers are required to undertake a more thorough review of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our policy, along with other policies are scheduled to be reviewed annually unless there is a change within the act itself. The changes are then checked & formalised by a director of Self Select Distribution.
